This is the round-trip version from Alexandria, and the evening at Giza is what sets it apart. You leave your ship in the morning, cross to Cairo, and return to the plateau after dark for the Sound and Light show, with the Sphinx and the pyramids lit up and the story of ancient Egypt projected across them. You see the site twice, in two completely different moods.
The second day brings you back along the coast to Alexandria's own Roman quarter, so you end your excursion in the city your ship is waiting in rather than making a third long run. That symmetry is the reason to choose this over a tour that ends somewhere else: no port logistics to think about, and the whole thing is anchored to one terminal.
Day one is the classic run out to the pyramids and the museum. Day two is the excavated Roman area and the catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, cut from living rock beside a temple of Serapis, then the fifteenth-century fortress of Qaitbay and the modern Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
It suits anyone calling at Alexandria who does not want to compress Cairo into a single exhausting day, and who would rather trade a later return for the Sound and Light show.
