Day Trip to Pyramids & Sakkara

Giza shows the finished form and Saqqara shows the first attempt, roughly a century earlier. Seen in that order, the progression is obvious. Saqqara is also quieter and cooler, which is a practical advantage in the afternoon.

Moderate to a good amount, mostly on open ground: the Giza Plateau in particular is a long walk from the entrance to the pyramids. Saqqara is a more open site than the plateau. Tell us about mobility needs when you book and we will advise honestly.

Camel and horse rides are available at the Giza Plateau, outside the site fence, and are optional and paid on the spot. They are not part of the tour price.

Yes. If your all-aboard time is tight we will suggest dropping Saqqara and spending longer at the plateau, which is the better trade. Send us your timings at the point of booking.

Comfortable walking shoes, sun protection, a hat and a camera. You are on your feet at Giza and again at Saqqara, both in the open, and you will be out in the open for much of the day, so water and a light cover-up are worth having.

Child prices and age bands vary by tour, travel date and group setup. Please send each child’s age at the time of travel; we will confirm the applicable per-person price and any required seating or documents before booking.
