A Lake Nasser journey offers a change of scene within an Egypt holiday. Broad views across the water and desert landscapes provide a striking setting for days of discovery. Time between visits is part of the experience, giving you room to reflect on the places you have explored and enjoy the landscape around you.
Choose this collection by looking closely at the route and the experiences included. Lake Nasser programmes should be considered separately from Nile itineraries between Luxor and Aswan: their destinations, transport arrangements and departure schedules are different.
The monuments of Nubia and the possibility of visiting Abu Simbel are central interests for many travellers considering this region. Compare each programme's listed visits to understand what you will see, how the excursions are organised and how much time is allocated to sightseeing.
Do not assume that every departure includes the same monuments or optional experiences. If Abu Simbel or another particular visit is a priority, confirm it in the day-by-day itinerary. Additional excursions and special arrangements should be checked separately from the advertised programme.
Begin with the embarkation and disembarkation locations, then consider the number of nights and the sequence of visits. These details help you understand how the journey will fit with your arrival, hotel stays and onward travel. Programmes can differ in direction as well as duration.
The routes and departure section displays the information available for published journeys. Follow through to the individual programme for its itinerary and available dates. If no schedule is listed for your preferred period, ask our team to check suitable options before making other travel commitments.
Alongside the sightseeing, allow yourself time to enjoy the setting. A lake journey can provide opportunities for photography, conversation and quiet moments between excursions. The daily balance of visits, travel and free time is determined by your selected programme.
Read the individual journey details for the facilities and services offered. Dining arrangements, accommodation and other onboard details vary, so use the published inclusions to understand your selected journey. Discuss dietary needs and practical requirements in advance rather than assuming that every arrangement is available.
You may wish to combine this experience with time in Aswan, visits in Luxor, or a stay in Cairo and Giza. A carefully arranged itinerary can connect different parts of Egypt while allowing time for transfers and rest between activities.
Share the destinations you want to include and the total number of days available. Our team can help you review how the different parts of your holiday fit together. Flights, hotels, transfers and additional tours are included only where they are expressly stated in your chosen arrangements.
Use the published price table to review the starting rate for your travel period and group size. Rates are per person for the stated programme. Read adult and child prices together with the inclusions and exclusions so you understand the scope of the journey.
A listed sailing day does not by itself confirm availability. Check your actual date in the booking calendar and review any dated departure information. The precise check-in, meeting and sailing times are confirmed for the programme you select.
Before booking, discuss the needs of everyone in your party, including children, travellers with limited mobility and anyone with dietary requirements. Ask about the practical arrangements for excursions and transfers if these affect your choice of programme.
Review the booking and cancellation conditions, confirm the included services and keep a clear record of your travel arrangements. If you need help choosing between journeys, send us your dates, group size and priorities so we can help you compare suitable options.
South of the High Dam the Nile becomes a lake and the desert comes right up to the gunwale. These are scheduled full-board crossings rather than private charters, which is why the route, the timings and the overnight moorings are the same every week. Four nights runs from Aswan to Abu Simbel and departs every Monday. Three nights runs back from Abu Simbel to Aswan and departs every Friday, finishing with Kalabsha beside the dam. Seven nights goes to Abu Simbel and returns, which is the only version that gives you two visits to the temples.
