Three nights from Aswan all the way to Luxor, the complete downriver corridor, with Philae, an optional Abu Simbel morning, Kom Ombo, Esna and the full west bank.

This is the complete Nile cruise compressed into three nights, and unlike the Aswan to Esna version it finishes in Luxor itself rather than an hour short of it. You see everything the standard large-ship route sees, in the same order, at a fraction of the crowd.

Day one gives you Philae and the High Dam before boarding, with an optional Nubian village visit in the afternoon. The sailing then carries you from Kom Ombo to Esna, and the last day is the west bank, the best day trip in Egypt. If your time in Luxor is tight, this is the version that guarantees you get it.

  • Philae before you board — The temple of Isis, taken apart and re-erected on its own island, on the first morning.
  • An optional Abu Simbel morning — A very early start for the temples at dawn. Optional, separate, and a long day.
  • Esna lock and temple — You watch the boat pass through the lock, then walk to the Temple of Esna.
  • The whole west bank — Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut's temple and the Colossi of Memnon on the final day.

Aswan

Philae and the High Dam, then boarding

We start at 08:00 for the Philae Temple, the sanctuary of Isis, which was taken apart and rebuilt on Agilkia island when the old Aswan dam was raised. The High Dam is next, and after lunch you board. There is time before dinner for an optional visit to a Nubian village. The first night is in Aswan, which is where the boat is required to moor.

Kom Ombo and Esna

The double temple, then the lock

Breakfast on board. There is an option for an early morning visit to Abu Simbel, which means leaving before dawn and a long road each way, so it is worth thinking carefully about whether you want it. Lunch is taken while sailing. The boat reaches Kom Ombo and you go ashore to the only double temple in Egypt. Dinner while sailing north, and the night moored at Esna.

The lock, the temple and the east bank

An early morning visit to the Temple of Esna, then breakfast while the boat crosses the lock, which is worth watching from the deck. Lunch while sailing to Luxor. On arrival in the afternoon you visit the east bank: the temples of Luxor and Karnak. Dinner on board, and the night moored on the west bank.

The west bank and disembarkation

A few things worth knowing.

Pickup and drop-off

Collection from any address in Aswan at 08:00 on day one, and drop-off at any address in Luxor on day four.

An early start on day one

Day one begins at 08:00 because Philae and the High Dam are done before boarding. Please be ready at your pickup point.

Optional Abu Simbel

An optional early visit to Abu Simbel can be added to day two. It departs before dawn and involves about 3.5 hours of road each way, so it makes a very long day. Book it only if you want it.

Onboard

Air-conditioned cabins, private or twin share, with en-suite facilities and a shaded sun deck.

Is Abu Simbel included? +

No. It is offered as an optional addition to day two and involves a pre-dawn start and a long drive each way. Ask us and we will price it.

Does this cruise finish in Luxor? +

Yes, which is the main difference from the Aswan to Esna cruise. You disembark in Luxor on day four.

Is there time for the west bank? +

Yes, a full day. The Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut's temple and the Colossi of Memnon are all on the final morning.
