11 Day 10 Night (Luxor, Oasis, Cairo)
New valley of the western desert
Day 1: (Luxor) arrival to Luxor and start our sightseeing of the West Bank – The Colossi of Memnon/Valley of the Kings (3 tombs)/Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Evening Karnak Light and Sound Show. Later take the time to walk around this quaint city.
Day 2: (Luxor) visits the Luxor and Karnak Temples,
Day 3 :(Oasis) Early morning ‘ air-conditioned ‘ bus leaving Luxor to Kharga. Stopping at Baris and visit the Roman Temple / Fortress of Dush, which marks the southernmost frontier of the Roman Empire. (Fortress of the Beautiful Garden). Temple of Qasr El Zayyan, with its impressive enclosure wall. Book into the hotel. Time to try Hot Spring.
DAY 4:(Oasis) After breakfast, visit the Temple of Hibis ( under restoration – worthy of a visit set in a lovely palm grove ). Bagawat Cemetery – believed to be one of the oldest and best-preserved burial grounds in the world – Climb the gentle slopes to the Roman Temple / Fortress of Nadura, the view from here is stunning of the surrounding desert. Kharga Museum is filled with Artifacts from Dakhla and Kharga. Return to Hotel.
Day 5:(Oasis) After breakfast leave for Dakhla ( 210 km approx ). * Stopping at The Old Kingdom ‘ Mastabas’ at Qila El Dabba ( note the unusual color of mud brick). Visit the Old Town of Balat, Bishendi Village. Arrive Hotel.
Day 6: (Oasis) After breakfast leave for Farafra(350 km approx)*Visit Deir El Haggar Temple. Qalamun Village. Time for Hot Spring. Visit market. Sleeping/eating under the stars!! In the beautiful White Desert(you will need a blanket or bag)
DAY 7:(Oasis) After breakfast,’ hot spring ‘ time. Leave for Baharyia (225 km approx) Stopping at’ Gebel El Izzaz’ the beautiful Crystal Mountain. Arrive at Hotel
DAY 8:(Oasis) After breakfast visit some Tombs Si Amuna, (Baharyia is under a big restoration program and the sites are often closed, we keep in close touch with the Director of Antiquities and will add any, or more to our program)
The hot springs here in Baharyia are very hot, maybe too hot for getting in. Continue through to Cairo 310 km approx.
DAY 9: (Cairo), City Tour
Start your day with a guided tour of the Egyptian Museum where you will find artifacts of the Pharaonic era and the treasures of King Tutankhamun’s tomb. Drive to Old Cairo, where early Judaism and Christianity flourished in Egypt. Visit the Ben Ezra Synagogue and Saint Sergius Church. After lunch, drive to the Citadel of Saladin and visit Mohamed Ali Alabaster Mosque. Enjoy a walking tour of the largest 13th-century covered oriental market, Khan El Khalili Bazaar. Dinner and overnight at a hotel
DAY 10: (Cairo), Pyramids Tour
After breakfast, a scenic drive will take you to the Pyramids & Sphinx of Giza, which have stood for the last 5000 years. Complete your visit to Giza with a tour of the Solar Boat Museum. After lunch, continue to the ancient city of Memphis, the first capital of united Upper and Lower Egypt, then visit Sakkara, the site of the Step Pyramid of Zoser. In the evening, return to the Pyramids area for a “Sound & Light” show
DAY 11: Early morning check out from hotel to airport.
